Our one main rule is RESPECT.
Respect for the rights of others and self.
Respect for the feelings of others.
Respect for authority.
Respect for property.
Respect for the world.
Our goal is to guide students in an awareness of the many levels of respect that allow all of us to function effectively no matter where we are, but, especially at school. When a student displays a lack of respect at any level, we will attempt to help that student improve through group discussion and group problem-solving. Our intent is not to punish, but to assist students in consistently showing respect at all levels. In general, we strive to help children to be intrinsically motivated – not to rely on extrinsic rewards for behavior. We have high expectations for ourselves and the children in our classrooms. Our classroom community is important and we support each individual child with his/her individual needs.
