The Multiage classrooms at Paddock Elementary School are looking for Mystery Readers. A Mystery Reader is a person who comes to Paddock – room #E33 to read to the multiage students. If you are interested in being a Mystery Reader this school year, please contact Liz Sutherland at 439-5128 or by email at [email protected]
All Mystery Readers MUST be approved through Ichat
The Mystery Reader will need to arrive with a book and/or supplies at Paddock by 10:50am on Friday. You will sign-in at our office and pick up your volunteer badge and then walk down to room #E33 by 10:55am Please stay in the hallway until you see a teacher and hear the “drum roll.” The identity of the Mystery Reader is a surprise so we ask you to do your best to stay “hidden” and keep the secret until the big reveal! At 10:55am the students will all meet in room #E33 and will make predictions about who the Mystery Reader could possibly be. The students will then play a drum roll on their legs while the Mystery Reader enters. The student who best knows the Mystery Reader will introduce them to the group and sit with them as they read. The Mystery Reader has approximately 30 minutes to read a storybook, tell a story, share a Power Point slideshow, etc. Following the reading, the students will share compliments and discuss their thinking. The student who introduced the Mystery Reader will then escort the reader to the office.
